It’s been a while since I’ve designed anything for a Sybarite. So when I picked up this fabric, Gothica decided no one else but her would have something out of it. And why not? It suits her coloring perfectly.

A little while back we were given a challenge on CDS- Romance was the theme. I couldn’t share back then because it was going into a magazine and of course the mags don’t want anyone to know ahead of time. I will be blogging on it in a little more detail within the next couple weeks but for now I wanted to share one of the romance related collections I will have available on my site. Please note that these are not the outfits that are in the mag- still can’t post those yet.
Now this is a little collection I had started over a year ago and never finished (gee I have a few of those things around). I was going to do a third gown- but ran out of fabric so I guess the two will suffice. Hmmm is that is why I never really finished it-trying to figure out what I was going to do for that third gown? Anyway, when the Romance theme popped up I figured this would be a good ensemble to finally complete and put on my website for the theme. I really like how they turned out- very romantic, don’t you think?
Have you ever been in a spot where you don’t know which direction to go next? I’m at that spot now. As I write this post, it will probably help me clear my thoughts and figure out what to do. I have one commission left to finish and then I am done with commitments. Whew! So where do I go from here? Do I do something that really inspires me? Or do I do a collection for those demanding 16″ Divas that I can make money on? And I do need money. It’s just that the thought of making the same thing at least 4 times and 12 different items to make at least 4 times each- well it just doesn’t sound appealing.
Here’s what I think I’d like to do. Finish a long awaited project. I started last year a riding habit for Regan
An 18th century black silk riding habit. I had a corset finished and the base for the hat, a pattern drafted for the jacket but that is about as far as I got since other things became priority. Now the other thing is, is I don’t know if I would be able to sell it once finished. It’s something I have wanted to do for a while and will want to keep it. I should just do it. But then I have to make some money-especially if I need a new car and a new doll which is a whole other post.
I will do the riding habit. See, I knew my thoughts would clear out. I think. I want to make a Victorian one for Katara. I think she would be so regal in it. One like I have done for the 16″ girls
We’ll see how it goes. I’ll be sure to post.
